AFRICA CLIMATE ROUNDTABLE ACCRA
AIM
Across Africa, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Climate Prosperity Plans set ambitious targets—but governments cannot deliver them alone. The private sector holds much of the capital, technology, and operational capacity required.
Ghana’s climate ambition — spanning multiple sectors and billions in required financing — reflects a wider regional reality: partnerships are the missing link between policy and impact. The Africa Climate Roundtable is designed to close
that gap.
The Accra Roundtable aims to:
1. Identify Bottlenecks: Pinpoint the policy and financing hurdles limiting effective Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in the climate space.
2. Create a Pipeline: Develop a shortlist of partnership opportunities to be advanced during ACF 2026.
3. Foster Collaboration: Establish a dedicated cohort of stakeholders to
support ongoing climate engagement.

Key Sub-Themes
The Roundtable will be organised around six critical pillars of climate
partnerships
- Just Transition: Ensuring that diverse stakeholder interests are factored into transition plans and that benefits of green shifts are equitably shared.
- Climate Finance: Midwifing a meeting of government leadership and private capital/expertise to close the funding gap.
- Technical & Technological Co-operation: Sharing resources across sectoral divides.
- Policy & Regulatory Co-operation: Sharing best practices to optimise transition processes.
- Advocacy: Building networks to communicate climate narratives, get feedback and secure buy-in.
- Transparency & Accountability: Strengthening mechanisms to reduce fraud, increase efficiency and build trust.
